Since entering the mortgage business in 1983 Bob has held a variety of positions in the retail loan origination profession, ranging from loan officer to vice-president of production. Bob has worked for portfolio lenders, mortgage bankers, and as a mortgage broker. Bob has consistently been a top-producer both as an originator and as a producing manager. Bob has personally been involved in originating over one billion dollars in residential business in his long career. Bob’s true professional passions are education and marketing. Bob is a member of the Upfront Mortgage Brokers (UMB) organization. Bob’s clients have the benefit of doing business with a mortgage broker/banker that truly represents the consumer. Upfront disclosure of compensation to the mortgage broker/banker is paramount. Members of UMB disclose upfront, in writing their total fees and compensation to the consumer.
Bob is very involved in his professional associations; the California Association of Mortgage Brokers (CAMB) and the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB).
Bob’s involvement in CAMB and NAMB started in 1999 first as a director on the East Bay Chapters Board and eventually as the Chapter President in 2001-2002. Bob has also served as the Membership Chair and the Education Chair for the East Bay Chapter. Bob was the State Education Chair for CAMB in 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. Bob was instrumental in bringing a formal education program (with DRE Credits) and professional designation program to the California Association of Mortgage Brokers membership. Bob was recognized and rewarded for his dedication by being voted “Associate of the Year” by the CAMB in 2005. Bob is a NAMB certified instructor, teaching a variety of classes to his peers. Bob also teaches loan officers outside of the NAMB/CAMB curriculum on sales and marketing. Bob teaches five different Adult Education classes on home buying to consumers in his community.
Bob currently works for Mortgage California in Alamo, CA as a Certified Mortgage Consultant. Fewer than 50 loan originators in the State of California and fewer than 300 originators nationwide currently hold the Certified Mortgage Consultant designation. Bob earned his designation through the National Association of Mortgage Brokers. Bob resides in Walnut Creek, CA with his wife and two sons. His hobbies are scuba diving, snow skiing and mountain biking.
